ACT Creative Cube
What’s black and white and yellow all over? We printed this vibrant wrap and installed it with a protective laminate (to stand up to Michigan weather) for our friends at Artists Creating Together (ACT). The goal of the Creative Cube mobile studio is to empower individuals with disabilities to learn, grow, and celebrate through the arts. ACT provides art and creative expression programming that enriches the lives of people with and without disabilities throughout all of West Michigan. Good work for a good cause.
AIS Neocon - Merchandise Mart
Sometimes clients seek fully fabricated environments and other times they are looking for individual components to enhance a larger space. Meta4mat provides both. In the case of AIS, who doubled the size of their Merchandise Mart Showroom last year, Meta4mat was asked to help fabricate custom display cabinetry, wooden wayfinding signs, a demonstration cart, product displays, LED lighted signs and dimensional graphic components that included a hat display requiring a little surgical expertise as we had to cut foam heads to support the hats. Following Full Circle’s creative lead, we helped enhance an already stunning environment. In many ways, the AIS showroom is a showcase for Meta4mat's broad capabilities. We like that.
Alma College
We were up to the challenge when contacted by Alma College to design and fabricate an appealing display in their atrium. The many components of this project seamlessly come together to tell the story of Alma College, and how their mission statement has been front and center over their long history. At Meta4mat, our team turns any environment into a memorable experience.
Amway Flower
Custom projects require unique solutions! Our friends at Amway came to us needing a oversized flower for a presentation of theirs...safe to say this will stand out on stage! This flowers spans to a whopping 7 feet wide. We take pride on finding unique solutions to our clients' bold ideas. Have a bold idea of your own? We'd love to find solutions to get it done!
Atlas EPS World of Concrete
Iterative collaboration with our clients is among the building blocks of our success. In the case of Atlas/EPS, the metaphor became literal as we welcomed a semi load of foam blocks into our shop, the tallest of which was 16 feet. A combination of cut and printed vinyl was applied to the blocks, as well as dimensional letters and graphics - all strategically engineered to integrate with custom fabricated display cases, reception counters & a portable beer bar for the World of Concrete tradeshow in Las Vegas.
Beacon Health
When contacted by Beacon Health to create a log cabin for the children’s play area at their South Bend facility, Meta4mat was given the challenge of creating a realistic cabin out of materials that met strict hospital requirements. Real wood was out, faux logs too expensive, PVC materials not durable enough, and painted surfaces were not allowed. After much deliberation and brainstorming we found a solution: composite decking. It was the right color, didn’t need to be finished, met both fire and cleaning requirements and, by its very nature, created a log cabin look when applied horizontally. The play center cabin was built in our facility in Grand Rapids in sections that could be disassembled and reassembled in South Bend.
Cardscore
We had a blast in Houston at the Tristar Collectors Show helping our friends at Cardscore launch their patent-pending sports card grading technology. As part of the process, Meta4mat fabricated kiosks equipped with scanners and a scorekey device that captures a high-resolution image of a trading card and sends it to their web application for grading by the collector community, in addition to custom-built crates. It's always exciting to be part of ground breaking initiatives.
CAT Booth Window
Working with the CAT Footwear Creative Team, our challenge was to create a window display reminiscent of the excitement of peeling back the layers of a neatly wrapped present. To do this, Meta4mat went in pursuit of a very specific "CAT yellow" paper stock. The yellow stock was mounted to vinyl, then CNC kiss-cut to facilitate the clients' desire to peel back the vinyl while actually tearing the paper on site. We also cut a new boot in half, mounting the toe to the front of the window and the heel to the back, simulating a new product kicking its way through the glass. The effect was enhanced even further with broken acrylic chunks laminated to the floor to appear as broken glass from the shoe striking the window. We love it when we're trusted to execute your creative vision.
Children’s Museum of Branch County — Front Desk
Who says desks can’t be fun?! It was our challenge to create an engaging and approachable front desk for kids and adults alike. We love thinking outside of the box when it comes to children's museums. You can’t miss it as you are welcomed into the Children’s Museum of Branch County.
Children’s Museum of Branch County — Space Station
Creating exhibits for children’s museums is one of our greatest joys. There is no limit on creativity. We are encouraged to think like children again. This exhibit allows children's imaginations to take them out of this world.
Enwork
Enwork challenged us to create illuminated logos that are up to their modern and innovative standards. Among the impressive work they display in their showroom, these projects look right at home.
Full Circle Marketing & Design
We simply love the creative process, and working with the team at Full Circle Marketing & Design challenges us on all levels. In the case of their new work space, we mean that quite literally. Situated on four floors, the office offers the opportunity to create unique and individual environments within the overall space. Connecting each of the floors is an elevator with unconventional doors on each floor that required a little installation trickery to get vinyl lettering to wrap cleanly over the ornate accent molding. The custom crafted bar on the third floor customer/employee lounge was built around an existing refrigerator. Wall graphics accent the entire space including printed cork behind the dart board (to absorb the occasional errant throw) in the lounge. In the second floor conference room, magnets were embedded into vertical wooden slats on a privacy wall so concept drawings can be displayed in an innovative way. The entire effort was a great example of who you know and what you know aligning perfectly.
Gentex at Junior Achievement
Gentex's latest project with Junior Achievement showcased Meta4mat's exceptional talents. This standout storefront features custom fabrication, versatile graphics on various materials, and innovative problem-solving at every stage. Have bold ideas for redesigning your space? We’re ready to tackle any challenge.
GFS 125th Anniversary
Gordon Food Service wanted to go big for their 125th anniversary, and this booth certainly caught every eye in the house. Guests were encouraged to roam among the numerous graphic components that tell the long and rich history of GFS.
GFS Dairy Booth
Want to stand out at your next trade show? Our team can find a way to make your booth the talk of the show. This GFS Dairy Booth seamlessly combines a variety of components to create an intriguing display. As great as it looks, it is also allows for impressive lighting and the ability to house multiple refrigerators. We enjoy the challenge of catering to the specific needs of our clients.
GFS Fry Booth
You can’t miss this one! The Gordon Food Show was taken over by a massive, eye-catching booth. This space is jam-packed with custom elements and interactive features. Come for the stunning design...stay for the fried food!
GFS Orderve Booth
Gordon Food Service entrusted us with their need for a standout booth at their event, and we rose to the occasion. Our creation spanned over 30 feet, featuring an interactive spinning display and towering illuminated overhead letters. The Orderve booth commands attention from every corner of the show hall.
GFS Sauce Booth
Want to stand out at a trade show? Our creative team at Meta4mat will ensure that your booth, big or small, will be the talk of the show. Don't be afraid to let us run with your wildest ideas...we are always up for the challenge!
Gordon Food Service Truck
How do you compete for attention at a trade show centered around free food samples? That was the challenge facing the creative team at Relish Works, a division of GFS tasked with imagining the future of the food industry. To help in their endeavor, Relish Works turned to Meta4mat to assist in creating an experience with equal amounts of visual intrigue and useful data. The result was a completely interactive food truck that engaged and informed attendees at every turn. Fabricated entirely at Meta4mat, the truck included an iPad registration station, divider towers with pulsating RGB/LED lighting, acrylic ballot boxes, Foodie I.D. stickers, and monitors with digital video loops. We also made the truck’s grill a drawer with power and USB outlets inside for booth attendants to stash and charge their devices. Work should always be this fun!
GR Airport Kids Waiting Room
Through a combined partnership with Helen DeVos Foundation, the Gerald R. Ford International Airport, and Level Design, Meta4mat was engaged to help update an existing children's waiting room in the pre-security area of the airport. Central to the design was a simulated control tower complete with LED lighting that doubled as a cover for an existing HVAC return duct. In addition to the tower, a custom padded floor, cut from various colors and welded together formed a runway design for a restored, vintage carnival ride helicopter. A two-sided window graphic as well as ceiling accents and wall vinyl completed the design.
GR Children’s Museum — Flower Wall
This attention-grabbing flower wall at the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum will catch the eye of all who enter. The vibrant colors, all created from our premium roll-to-roll printer, set the tone in a fun-filled space. Although it isn’t just great to look at…it is also fabricated to be an interactive magnet wall for kids to build their own flowers!
GR Children’s Museum — Wimee
We were excited for the opportunity to create an exhibit/set for Wimee’s Words, a locally popular children’s program. We worked alongside the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum to create a set where they could record a live show! Safe to say it was a great success!

Manning’s Hometown BBQ
We love the entrepreneurial spirit, so when Derek and Amy Manning decided to turn their passion into a business, we were glad to play a part. Their award-winning BBQ was getting so much attention that they decided to take it on the road. To do that, they started with a brand new, bright red trailer and then turned to Meta4mat for a little creative guidance. The results are a fun and festive design that captures the essence of outdoor barbecuing featuring their distinctive logo, lots of flame and all the information you need to contact them for your next outing or event. Check them out on Facebook at Mannings Hometown BBQ.
Metro Health
Meta4mat was approached by our friends at DDM to help build a lasting wall mural for Metro Health Hospital in celebration of seventy-five years of serving the community. The design was to showcase both the Hospital’s past and present, as well as highlighting its many dedicated employees. At the heart of the display is a seven-foot-tall 75 fabricated from metal with an acrylic front featuring lighted images from the past seventy-five years. The back of the sign has LED lights that project backwards creating a halo effect. Dimensional letters surround the display for added context. Although we always prefer a little breathing room, the deadline was so tight on this one that it was installed the day of an evening dedication and just one day before the official unveiling. Whew!
Mouth Exhibit
In collaboration with the Children's Museum of Branch County and Coldwater Family Dentistry, this MASSIVE mouth was fabricated and brought to life. This immersive exhibit allows children to crawl through the mouth and take a shot at flossing these over-sized teeth! This combines play with learning, as kids will pick up some important dental health facts along the way. Head down to Coldwater, MI to check this one out!
Munters
Munters, a global leader in energy efficient agricultural and horticultural ventilation systems, approached Meta4mat for ideas regarding the rapidly approaching IPPE show. The challenge was put very succinctly; “We need to appear like we belong here”. Munters needed a solution that allowed them to fill large spaces for some shows and smaller spaces for others. To accommodate, we fabricated a 16’ tall tower with an 8’ square footprint featuring functioning products, video loops, branded graphics and a spring-loaded hidden door for entry into the tower. Each corner of the tower has a universal radiused corner piece. For larger spaces, the corner pieces on any one side can be removed and a descending wall complete with planters can be cam-locked into the corner instead, integrating perfectly with all the other components while creating a much larger presence. As a bonus, we learned a ton about the importance of climate control relative to chicken egg production.
North Channel Brewing
When challenged by Studio Wise to help create a visually stunning backdrop for the North Channel Brewing Company in Manistee, Michigan, Meta4mat responded by printing a vintage image of the Edmond Fitzgerald on fabricated metal panels combined with an eight foot diameter dimensional custom painted logo that was pin mounted to the panels. If you visit Manistee anytime soon, stop in and have a look (and a craft beer or two).
ReChaco
It was our joy working alongside Chaco to bring their ReChaco facility to life. We enjoyed the challenge of bringing together the many components of this project into one cohesive environment…there is very little that we can’t do! ReChaco is a program that repairs their popular sandals. Repairing rather than rebuying promotes sustainability, and we loved conveying that message in this expansive project.
Special Olympics
This colorful display at the West Michigan Special Olympics presents the incredible work that this organization is involved in. The wide array of visuals show off the colorful and welcoming environment that is the Special Olympics. Have an idea to spice up your showroom? Contact us!
tbx
When Nate from tbx called and said "I hear you guys do great work" we did not quibble. Having recently moved into a new space, tbx was looking for a few accents to complete their decor vision. The most prominent of which is an LED lit dimensional sign installed on the front of their refurbished reception desk. In the backdrop is a tone-on-tone graphic featuring gloss lettering on a matte black wall. A retrospective mural covers a conference room wall while additional branding highlights the rest of their space. Nature chimed in as well. The vinyl tbx logo applied to the glass front door, when hit by light from the hall, casts a perfect shadow unto a blank wall inside the lobby. Although we can't guarantee a natural phenomenon every time you work with us, we're quite certain the experience will be phenomenal.
The Mitten State
Meta4mat collaborated with local A & D firm Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr, & Huber (FTCH) on a design developed for The Mitten State. Most formidably was a point of sale backdrop made from 1400 individual cut pieces of wood. Also included was a custom front window display with hidden lower storage, a wood framed dressing room with a sliding barn door, and an LED display highlighting key moments in the city's history. A slat wall engineered to look like retracted high school bleachers as well as graphics featuring famous Michigan personalities were added. The west side is indeed the best side.
Tidbits Theater
The Children’s Museum of Branch County didn’t have to look far for ideas for their next exhibit. The vibrant Tidbits Theater was inspired by their across-the-street neighbors, the historic Tibbits Opera House. Kids who visit can perform under the large arch, play various characters with different clothing and props, and take on the role of a director to 'film' the performance using the added effects of a greenscreen! Make sure to check out the latest exhibit design in Coldwater, Michigan.
VanEerden
Our friends at Van Eerden came to us wanting something grand for their trade show entrance. In partnering with them, we came up with the idea of recreating the storefront of their first store from over 100 years ago. Upon entering the trade show, you couldn't miss this fabricated faux storefront with its timeless brick front, wide-spanning awning, and original signage. From trade show design, fabrication, to installation, we love seeing the whole process through.
VanEerden’s Trade Show ‘24
The annual VanEerden's trade show stands as one of the largest and most thrilling events we participate in. This year was no different. Through collaboration with the exceptional VanEerden's team, we crafted some of the show's standout features. Among them, a colossal entrance showcasing their vibrant produce stole the spotlight. Additionally, Meta spearheaded the fabrication and arrangement of center stage hedges, table facades, arches, and a strikingly colorful backdrop. Whether you require a complete booth or individual components, we're just a call away.
Wolverine Worldwide Airport Display
We’re a flexible bunch at Meta4mat so when we were approached by Wolverine World Wide and their technology partner, Freshwasher Digital, about contributing to a wall mural at the Gerald R Ford International Airport, we were all in. Wolverine was assigned a specific wall along concourse B and the build included a combination of wood, acrylic, and custom WWW leather to showcase their products. The permanent structure also needed to accommodate product and graphic changes. Nothing we haven’t done before, except this time they needed us to work between the hours of midnight and six AM. The final design featured printed acrylic images, frosted acrylic logos, original Wolverine leathers, and black acrylic framed TV screens all surrounded by natural woods and dimensional letters. A can-do attitude and a little extra caffeine was all it took!
